American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen® Certification (CGC) Program: CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.  

National Animal Assisted Crisis Response Organization:

Delta Society: Delta Society is an international, non-profit organization that unites people who have mental and physical disabilities and patients in healthcare facilities with professionally trained animals to help improve their health. Delta Society's Pet Partners Program trains volunteers and screens volunteers and their pets for visiting animal programs in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, schools and other facilities.

National Capital Therapy Dogs, Inc.: NCTD is non-profit volunteer-based organization and a Delta Society affiliate that conducts training and performs the Delta Society screening for the volunteers and their animal teammates.

Reading Education Assistance Dogs® (R.E.A.D.): The mission of the R.E.A.D. program is to improve the literacy skills of children through the assistance of registered Pet Partner® therapy teams as literacy mentors. This program improves children’s reading and communication skills by employing a powerful method: reading to a dog.
