Paws4Hearts - About Us

Who we are?

We are a group of people and pet team volunteers desiring to share God's love with people in health care facilities, children in MBC Access Ministry, and children with reading difficulties at MBC, schools, and libraries. We are open to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Mission

"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15

God gave us pets as gifts for a reason. Paws for Hearts is a Christ-centered ministry that desires to share our pets and our love of pets with people through interactions to bring the life changing message of Jesus Christ. People and animals matter to God and to us and must be treated gently and respectfully.

Goals

"Our goal is to build a community of pet therapy teams, volunteers, and programs that will impact the city for Christ."

  • Develop pet therapy teams by helping them learn about pet therapy, provide support throughout the volunteer and pet therapy team training and certification process.
  • Build MBC Programs for the children in Access, and the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program for MBC children, schools and libraries to improve children's reading skills.
  • Build Community Programs through volunteer and pet therapy teams' visits to health care facilities such as nursing homes and civilian and military hospitals; "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." John 14:18
  • Raise funds for ministry activities such as purchasing pocket Bibles, tracts, marketing materials, and providing scholarships to those who would like to participate but are unable financially.
  • All activities we carry out in the name of Jesus Christ must be done with excellence and credibility.
