Donation receipt valuation:  This amount it up to you.  The Clothing Shop does not place a value on any donated item.  A general guideline is to value the item for the amount that it could be sold at a yard sale.  There are some websites that have valuation tables and some software programs provide help in this area.

According to the IRS:  To be deductible, clothing and household items donated to charity generally must be in good used condition or better. A clothing or household item for which a taxpayer claims a deduction of over $500 does not have to meet this standard if the taxpayer includes a qualified appraisal of the item with the return. Household items include furniture, furnishings, electronics, appliances and linens.
